The Cologuard Plus test detects 95% of colon cancers.1

This cancer detection rate is comparable to colonoscopy, based on a separate study.2†‡

Advanced detection, proven performance

Your colon naturally sheds cells with every bowel movement. Powered by 5 optimized biomarkers, the Cologuard Plus test scans those cells for abnormal DNA and blood to detect cancer and precancers.1

Also, in a subgroup of 20 adults ages 45–59, it was found that the Cologuard Plus test detected 100% of colon cancers.1

Get true peace of mind with a 99.9% performance rate for negative results1*— all from a simple use-at-home test that catches far more precancer than a standard FIT test.1§

Why it’s important to screen at 45

A new study by the American Cancer Society revealed why early detection matters:

  • Colon cancer is now the #1 cause of cancer-related deaths among adults under 503
  • 3 out of 4 patients under 50 are diagnosed with advanced colon cancer4
  • It’s the  only  type  where  its  mortality  rate  has  increased since 2005, compared to the 4 other leading causes of cancer death3

No symptoms does not mean no risk

Colon cancer is one of the most preventable kinds of cancer. When caught in its early stages, it’s survivable in about 90% of people.5**

Still, the myth that you only need to get screened if you already have symptoms persists.

The truth is, early-stage colon cancer is often a silent disease without any warning signs.6 Waiting for symptoms often means the cancer has already progressed.

This table is not a complete list of all available colon cancer screening methods. ACS preferred options include stool-based tests (FIT/FOBT, stool DNA, stool RNA) and visual exams (colonoscopy, CT colonography, flexible sigmoidoscopy). A positive noninvasive test result requires a follow-up colonoscopy.

#Based on data from clinical studies, SimpleScreen CRC has limited detection of Stage I (57%) colorectal cancer (64% when U.S. 2020 Census age-sex adjusted) and does not detect 87% of advanced precancerous lesions (86% when U.S. 2020 Census age-sex adjusted). One out of 10 patients with a negative SimpleScreen CRC result may have a precancer that would have been detected by a screening colonoscopy.10
